So I haven't been here in years and apparently it's under new ownership since the last time I visited.

Came here for brunch. The food was really delicious. The fried chicken has this beautiful crust that's a little sweet but not overly sweet. I loved the French toast because it wasn't drowned in syrup. But it could've had a liiiiiitle bit more. Also the biscuits werent flaky, but substantial and the sour creamy, chive-y flavored gravy was the best compliment. The drinks were strong and the service was good, not annoying. Just like I like it. Definitely recommend for a cool atmosphere, brunch/drinks!

After an evening in downtown San Antonio, I was begging for a Sunday brunch to cure my hangover. My friend and I went to Tucker's with his word that this was the cure- and this place did not disappoint.

We opted to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. My only complaint was our guest DJ was very loud, which made it hard to talk to my brunch buddy and wasn't great for my headache.

Our waitress promptly brought us waters, and had a quick turnaround on our mimosas. My friend raved about the chicken fried steak, but opted to try the chicken and waffles. I watched him finish every last bite.
The real secret here is the Fluffy egg sandwich with sweet potato tots. Everything that came on my tray was amazing (and gave my brunch partner food envy). It saved me.

This restaurant is quaint and small. There's a mom and pop kinda vibe to it, which I adore. I'll definitely be back!

SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME! DO NOT BOTHER EATING HERE! I don't even know where to begin to explain how terrible my experience was at Tucker's. A group of friends (5 people including myself) decided to try Tucker's for Sunday brunch (August 26). Our group decided to meet up around noon. We arrived and completed "check-in" at the table in front of Tucker's. We were informed the wait would be 1.5 hours just to be seated. We knew brunch times always have fairly long waits so this wasn't even an issue. Where the wait became an issue was when that 1.5 hour was over and the staff continuously kept coming out saying your table will be ready in a minute and minutes passed and still we are waiting outside in the heat. This happens about 3 times before I became upset and asked them to either seat us or stop telling us our table will be ready if that's not the case.

Finally after waiting forever we were seated inside. The first thing I noticed was how small the establishment was and realized no wonder the wait is so long the place is tiny and can only fit like 20 people or less inside. Nevertheless we sat down and started looking at the menu. The waitress came over and took our drink order (everyone ordered water due to being extremely thirsty and hot from the long wait outside in the heat). The water arrived in glasses. A few people at the table started drinking their water when they realized there were random particles floating around in the water. It was disgusting. Everyone checked their drink and sure enough it was in all the drinks. We requested the waitress and she proceeded the state that the water was tap and that's why it had these miscellaneous particles in there. Tap or not, water shouldn't look like that. She returned the drinks and brought back another round and water for the table and the exact same thing. We also realized that everyone else in the restaurant had to-go cups and we were the only ones with glass cups (interesting). We were thinking maybe it was the cups that was the issue but either way nobody was drinking water with random stuff floating in it. The waitress and staff seemed like the had an attitude when we were trying to address the issue. We decided to order sprite instead. They brought out some canned sprite and it was really hot as if it had been sitting in the heat and the sprite was watered down. We finally all opted to order orange juice instead. The lady came over before she brought the orange juice and stated "the orange juice has pulp in it, is that okay, because I want to make sure before so y'all don't send it back." At that point I was agitated. Don't get upset and start exhibiting poor customer service because I'm complaining about a legitimate issue. NOBODY, I REPEAT, NOBODY WANTS TO DRINK ANYTHING WITH RANDOM PARTICLES IN IT. ITS NASTY AND UNACCEPTABLE!

Anywho, on to the next issue, the food! The menu was a one pager with limited options so most of our table settled on Chicken & Waffles. The presentation looked good but that was as good as it got for this meal. The chicken skin was seasoned HOWEVER my chicken was not cooked thoroughly. It was still bleeding inside and so was others at the table. The waffles were so damn tough I thought I was going to break my teeth. I was so shocked I even had babe record me cutting the waffle just to show y'all how it was because it was that bad! (See Video).

At this point I didn't even wants to send the food back cuz I felt like the wait staff would retaliate and/or try to spit in our food or do some reckless stuff to our food. I at bits and pieces of the tough waffle and the chicken skin. Everybody else pretty much did the same. Thank God the food was only $13 because anything more would have been robbery! At the end the staff did compliment our drinks due to all the issues we were having but that's all they did. I will never return and if I could give ZERO STARS I would.

Please save your time and money. Don't bother coming here unless you want a follow-up at your dental provider and/or salmonella poisoning!

So I had to try this local well known San Antonio spot.  The food was great!  I went on a Sunday for the brunch menu.  I had the chicken and waffles for $15.  The portion size was good.  I actually was not able to finish the waffle.  The chicken was seasoned well, crispy and delicious.  The restrauant it self, is smaller than I expected with seating for up to 20 or so.  The wait staff was friendly and got our food out quickly.  Tucker's is well known by most in San Antonio and for my first time going there I would say it lived up to expectations.

Tucker's is usually a great time! I would recommend trying out this place. It's a great chill outdoor atmosphere. Sundays are the time to go with great feel good music. There is usually a wait so be prepared but definitely worth it.

They ran out of chicken & waffles around 12:18pm,. They did comp the meal for my friends who ordered the chicken & waffles which is more than enough.  Kudos!
